Biographical sketch: Catherine Nelson (formerly Catherine Mattis) was born in Kingston, Jamaica on February 14, 1965. Catherine immigrated from Jamaica to Canada in 1976 with her siblings Junior, Baldwin, Pauline and Vincent. Her sister Ingrid remained in Jamaica with her children. Her father Densil immigrated to Canada in 1968 and her mother Barbara immigrated to Canada in 1972. Catherine married Rodger Nelson in 1988. Together they had two children, Melissa in 1991 and Alicia in 1995.Scope and content: The fonds provides information on the family history of the Mattis family following their migration from Jamaica to Canada. The fonds includes photographs and a photo album cover. The photo album was assembled by Barbara ca. 1975. Some of the photographs in the fonds were captured by professional photographers.
